​​​​​SCIENCE BEHIND THE INGREDIENTS Super berry complex (49.06%) consists of: Vaccinium Angustifolium (Blueberry) Fruit Extract contains Vitamin C, works wonder for hyperpigmentation, skin discoloration. It also helps with dryness, dullness, brightening and reducing uneven skin texture. It adds moisture and hydration to the skin, improve skin cell's turnover rate. ​Rubus Idaeus (Raspberry) Fruit Extract packed with antioxidant, inflammation, skin-softening and soothing properties. ​Glycerin ​hydrates and moisturise the skin.

​Dipotassium Glycyrrhizate, salt from of licorice plant, for skin brightening and anti-inflammatory properties, benefit in treating skin diseases such as atopic dermatitis, eczema and rosacea. Trehalose a type of sugar that helps hydrate the skin. ​ 3-O-Ethyl Ascorbic Acid, a stable form of vitamin C, helps brightening the skin, has antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, collagen boosting benefits for the skin. ​Lactic Acid an AHA, non-friction chemical exfoliant and humectant. Derived from milk/dairy, has second smallest molecule so is not as strong as glycolic acid. Lactic acid is the gentlest acid out of all acids, helps break down and dissolves dead skin cells without causing skin irritation, make it suitable for even sensitive skin. ​Glycolic Acid an AHA, chemical exfoliant and humectant (attracts water to skin for skin's hydrating). Derived from sugar cane, has the smallest molecules out of all acids, which helps penetrate deeper into our skin, works effectively through more skin layers. The best chemical exfoliant in skincare to remove dead skin cells, reveals radiant, smoother and brighter skin beneath. This acid also stimulates collagen production that reduces the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles as well as improve the elasticity of our skin. Panthenol (Vitamin B5) has the ability to regenerates skin tissue which helpful in recovery of acne scars, spots, rashes, eczema and psoriasis. It also helps maintain skin softness and elasticity, smooth the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines. Allantoin extracted from Comfrey plant's roots and leaves, that has soothing and moisturizing properties, designed to treat sensitive or compromised skin. This is one of the non-irritating ingredients that provides natural exfoliation and helps stimulating new tissue growth.

MY THOUGHTS ON PRODUCT PERFORMANCE elmt Gentle Exfoliating Solution is formulated with AHA and vitamin C, which work together to remove dead skin cells to uncover your skin’s inner glow. After cleansing, dispense product to the palm of your hands then gently pat the solution on to your skin to help fully absorption. Another way is to dispense the solution to a cotton pad, gently wipe evenly over face and neck for extra exfoliating effect. This solution could be used in both morning and nighttime routines. When use in the morning, always wear sunscreen before heading out.

The solution has watery texture makes it easier to absorb to the skin, with a hint of citrus scent, which not really bother me, but some may find it unpleasant. Good news the scent doesn't linger around for long after application. This exfoliator solution is great for anyone who is looking for a non-irritating exfoliator to gently remove dead skin cells without interfering with the natural skin's cell turnover. For those with sensitive skin, remember to start of slowly then increase the frequency for your skin to build tolerance to the product, always patch test first before use. I notice my post acne scars and dark spots slowly fade away and my overall complexion definitely brighter compared to not using. In the beginning, I only use the solution twice a week, and increase to 3 times and now I'm using it daily to prep my skin before serum/essence and moisturizer steps. It is a truly game changer for my acne-prone skin. As I was starting off slowly, I didn't have any skin irritation or reactions while using the solution. I only use the solution to prep my skin daily at night. I always use sunscreen in the morning after to protect my skin. ​ I have been testing the solution for a month now, glad to say that I'm happy with the solution and will continue to use it. A great alternative to COSRX AHA/BHA Clarifying Treatment Toner that I was using.
